Serena has been part of the Sustainability Management (SUM) research area of the Sant’Anna School since 2019. Her main research interests concern the circular economy, business competitiveness and environmental management.

Serena holds a second level Master’s diploma in “Management and Environmental Control: Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency Management”.

Her work was part of the Italian Project “SICH PRIN 2010-11 - Sustainability in Cultural Heritage from diagnosis to the development of innovative systems for consolidation, cleaning and protection”. Prior to her doctoral studies, she received a Master’s degree (cum laude) in Science for Conservation and Restoration from University of Florence.

What are Serena’s plans for this new chapter of her academic career, in connection with the objectives of EMbeDS? “I will analyze and evaluate the main determinants and the effects of business strategies and actions for the implementation of circular economy principles at the corporate level. This analysis will allow us to design and develop more efficient and interesting solutions in the field of business competitiveness”.
